More about Jamaica......

Culture, Physical environment, Language, Religion

The people of Jamaica are mainly from African descent but doesn't exclude people of the European, Chinese, Arabic and East Indian Ancestry. The languages spoken on this island are English, French, Spanish and Patois. Patois is the official Jamaican language which was called, "Jamaican Creole which is a mixture of English, Spanish and African languages. The Rastafari culture is the unique culture, which was founded in Jamaica. The physical beauty of this island makes it unique and extremely appealing to visit which attracts people from all around the world.  The physical geography of this location is breathtaking, starting with the sandy white beaches to the crystal clear waterfalls, all the way to the Blue Montain which has stunning views.

Weather and Climate, Time to visit
The weather is warm and has plenty of sunshine year round. The only difference in temperature between summer and winter is approzimately 10 degrees.  July and August are the hottest months with temperatures ranging in the high 80's. The coolest month is February with highs in the 80's and lows in the 60's. The water temperature during the winter is 80 degrees and in the summer it is 84 degrees. From August to October it is considered hurricane season, which is also the least expensive time. Hotels and large resorts now offer a "hurricane guarantee" which will reimburse hotel guests for the amount of money paid during those days. The "high season" is during December 15 - April 15, which is also when rates are the highest, because it is around New Years and Christmas.
